Join Diana's Culinary tour in Sicily!
Diana is excited to announce that she will be offering another culinary tour next year, following the tremendous success of the previous tours. This time, we will be exploring the rich culinary heritage of Sicily, a region renowned for its vibrant flavors and unique dishes.
Participants will have the opportunity to indulge in authentic Sicilian cuisine, learn from local chefs, and discover the cultural significance behind each dish. With a mix of hands-on cooking classes, guided market tours, and visits to charming local eateries, this tour promises to be an unforgettable culinary experience.
Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or just beginning to explore the world of cooking, this trip will provide ample opportunities to expand your palate and learn new skills. Join us in Sicily for a delightful journey into the heart of Italian gastronomy!
DAY 1 – Palermo: Arrival transfer and Welcome Dinner
Welcome to the sunny Sicily! Morning arrival at Punta Raisi airport in Palermo. Meet your Driver and your Sicilian Tour manager. Transfer to your hotel. Afternoon is free.
Welcome dinner with Sicilian menu and wine at a local restaurant.
DAY 2 – Palermo: Half day Palermo Guided tour & Street food tasting
This morning experience the vibrant soul of Palermo on this immersive half day
walking tour that blends history, culture, and cuisine. Led by an expert local guide,
you'll explore the city’s most iconic landmarks from the outside — like the Cathedral,
Teatro Massimo, Quattro Canti, and Piazza Pretoria. Visit the famous and bustling
Vucciria and Mercato di Capo outdoor markets, tasting five different Sicilian treats
along the way. Rest of the day at leisure and overnight.
DAY 3 – Day at a Farm - Cooking class in Palermo
Today depart for a farm about 1 hour and half from Palermo. You will be involved in the
farm's production activities: cheese making, participation in the harvest and processing
of fruit and vegetable products, and equine maintenance activities. The visit to the
Farm, guided by an agronomist, includes: a tour of the stable, a tour of the milking
room, a visit to the dairy. Then enjoy a 2 hour cooking class followed by a delicious
lunch! Return to Palermo, time at leisure and overnight.
DAY 4 – Palermo to Agrigento - stopover in Agrigento
After breakfast depart to Agrigento. Upon arrival, meet the guide to visit the Valley of the
Temples, including the Temple of Juno, Concord, Heracles, Zeus, Castor and Pollux that
represent the most beautiful examples of the Greek Civilization in Sicily. This afternoon
stop in a pastry where you can taste typical cookies with Pistacchio and almonds.
Tonight, enjoy dinner at your hotel.
DAY 5 – Agrigento to Ragusa - stop in Modica
After breakfast depart to Ragusa, with a stop along the way in Modica. Here we visit one of
the oldest chocolate factories in Sicily. The visit includes a demonstration and tasting of the
traditional methods of making Modicano – a variety of chocolate typical of this city. After the
experience, proceed to Ragusa. Check in at your accommodation and enjoy rest of the day at
leisure.
DAY 6 – Ragusa: AM Essential Oil Production Experience with Aperitif PM Ragusa to Catania
This morning transfer to a local organic farm. A multisensory experience which over the years has become a reference point for chefs, gourmets, and lovers of good food throughout Italy, thanks to its 150 species of aromatic and medicinal plants that are grown and distributed. Finish the experience with a stop in the Kitchen-garden where the multisensory itinerary ends with an Aperitif made of this handmade product from the farm. Afterwards, we will continue on to Catania. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at Hotel to relax at
your own pace. This evening, dinner is served at your hotel or local restaurant walking distance.
DAY 7 – Full day at in Taormina from Catania with cooking class and lunch + time at leisure
This morning after breakfast, transfer to Taormina to join Chef Massimo, for a hands-on cooking class while learning about the local in-season products and Massimo’s family recipe and traditions. Head into the kitchen for your hands-on cooking class featuring Sicilian
specialties. Lunch follows featuring the foods prepared in class and is accompanied by
local Sicilian wines. Rest of the day at leisure. Return to Catania in time for a dinner on
your own and overnight.
DAY 8 – Full day Mt. Etna with Wine Tasting and light lunch
This morning enjoy a half day guided excursion to Mt Etna Volcano one of the world's largest and most active volcanoes. From 6,000 feet you can enjoy the best views, as you drive through the fertile slopes and villages that sit on ancient volcanic eruptions. End your experience with
a tasting and lunch at a local winery at the foot of the mountain. After visiting the winery
and the vineyard, you will taste delicious local products prepared according to tradition as
well as 5 wines expertly paired with dishes.
DAY 9 – Departure Day
Private transfer to Catania Airport for your return flight. Arrivederci!
